- What is your interest in the Creative Arlington beta community?
- To connect with other artists and arts organizations in the Arlington community - and to find ways to connect better with local businesses. We particularly want to explore ways that the Center Dance Company can be a dance resource to the business and creative community, both as a place to have classes and studio spaces to rent out.
- How do you or would like to use your imagination and original ideas to enrich the economy and culture in Arlington, and beyond?
- We'd like to find ways of bringing dance into the workplace, perhaps with private group classes with one of our amazing faculty members, mini-performances by the Center Dance Company, or even offer special discounts on classes to those in the business world (who want to expand their creative selves).
Additionally, we have 6 beautiful studios that can be used for special events, corporate receptions, even retreats (using our new boardroom). We have classes in non-dance which are appropriate for anyone - Pilates, stretch, yoga, in addition to the traditional ballet, modern dance, jazz, and tap programs.
We are very open to partnership ideas with businesses or other artists.

- Arlington Center for Dance opened in the Fall of 1981 and went on to establish a solid reputation as one of the premier dance training schools in the Metro Washington DC area. In July 2008, the organization moved to a beautiful 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art studio facility just one block from Arlington in Falls Church, off of Columbia Pike and Carlin Springs Rd. The organization changed it’s name to BalletNOVA Center for Dance in July 2009.
BalletNova Center for Dance is dedicated to educating and mentoring dancers in a positive, nurturing environment and preserving the traditions of classical ballet through quality dance productions and education. The Center offers classes in ballet, modern, tap, jazz, hip hop, and flamenco for children, teens and adult dancers. The pre-professional ballet program is based on the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus (an internationally recognized system that provides a certification program in classical ballet). There are also conditioning classes, such as stretch, yoga, and Pilates. The studios are available for rental, for rehearsals, classes, or parties. The Center accepts children and adults at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels into a year-round program.
Finally, BalletNova Center for Dance is a community-oriented dance company committed to presenting quality productions and choreography that people can understand, respect, enjoy, and afford.
We are proud to have assembled a highly qualified and competent teaching staff. The Journal has noted we are in "the forefront of area dance," and attracting "the best performers and teachers." Washington Dance View, in citing our working knowledge of injury prevention and care of the body, says that "If you send your children to ACD, you're sending them somewhere where people care about their bodies, and [have a working] knowledge of what young dancers can and cannot do."
Many young dancers training at the Center have auditioned for and performed with internationally known companies, including Dance Theatre of Harlem, Stuttgart, Joffrey, Ballet West, and the Royal Ballet.
Due to the quality of our staff, serious dance students receive individual attention and some of the finest training available. Individuals seeking personal enrichment and exercise are able to attain their goals in a comfortable, enjoyable environment.
